Those stones are still on the bridge and I myself lifted one in each hand on many occasions and one market day, I carried them across the bridge and back, some four to five yards - Donald Dinnie.

Carter lifted himself into the history books by becoming the youngest athlete to sucessfully lift the Dinnie Stones unassisted to date at 16 years of age. His lift was witnessed by Brett Nicol, Jim & Rosemary Splaine, Abby Nicol & the crowd of spectators and lifters in attendance.
